ANAND SCORED HIS FIRST WIN AT CORUS
After drawing 9 games in as many rounds, India’s Super Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand scored his first win against Spanish Grandmaster Alexie Shirov. Playing with White Anand opened with e4 and Shirov replied with e5 and the game was fought on Ruy Lopez Moeller Defence lines. Both the players blundered in the middle game but Anand was quick to recover , He finally beat Shirov but only from a lost position. tournament will be held from 15 January - 31 January 2010 in Wijk aan
Zee, Netherlands. The winner of the event will qualify for the Grand
